Hello and Welcome!

Dr. Norell McCaw is a humanistic therapist whose goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space to help clients increase self-awareness and self-compassion and move towards an authentic and meaningful life.

Dr. McCaw received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego, CA. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from George Mason University and earned a Masters in Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings including university counseling centers (San Diego State University and University of Northern Colorado) and specialty treatment centers (the San Diego LGBT Community Center and the UCSD Eating Disorder Treatment Center.) She completed her postdoctoral fellowship working as a Registered Psychological Associate for a private practice in San Diego, CA, providing psychotherapy and psychological evaluations.

Dr. McCaw has training providing evidence-based interventions to clients with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and substance use disorders. She also counsels clients with relationship and parenting challenges, grief and loss, and adjustment difficulties. She utilizes a variety of modalities, including mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies, psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She practices culturally sensitive care and is a LGBTQ+ ally.

Dr. McCaw is a licensed mental health counselor by the Washington State Department of Health (LH 61647036).
