Therapy is a collaborative relationship where goals and plans are discussed at the beginning of treatment and continually monitored throughout the process. Therapy focuses on decreasing/eliminating symptoms of distress, increasing coping skills, and improving self-care. This is attained by gaining insight into problems (understanding underlying causes and patterns), focusing on the here and now/what each of us have control over in our lives, and through the therapeutic relationship. Dr. McCaw believes that this relationship is the cornerstone of effective treatment. She strives to provide a safe space of exploration, connection, challenge, and positivity.
